We had a six hour drive from Qui Nhon to Nha Trang.  The hotel we are in is very nice and has quite the history with it.  We plan on enjoying the beach, a boat ride with snorkeling, or going to Vinpearl.  We hope to just relax and have a good time.  We will be here for two nights and then head back to Saigon area for a couple of days.

R&R Continues

I'll take the one on the right!

 I want the next dance

Do we have to leave now?

That's our hotel for tonight?

Is there enough rooms for all of us?

At least our rooms have a good view

Now that hotel is OK

How fast will this go?

This doesn't look like the China Beach they had on the TV Show

Tony, are you trying to take Vietnam back home with you?

Hollywood Jim, King for a day, then a mummy for ever!!

We finished our short time in Hue and headed south for Da Nang.

The first two pictures we were on the boat being entertained with Vietnamese traditional music and instruments.  It was very enjoyable even though we could not understand what they were singing.

In the third picture we are getting ready to leave the hotel and head for Da Nang.

Pictures 4 and 5 are bunkers used by the USA guarding the mountain pass between Da Nang and Hue.

Number six is overlooking the bay as we are coming into Da Nang.

Pictures 7,8, and 9 we are in Da Nang on China Beach.

Number 10, Tony is selecting some more samples to take home.

And the last picture is Jim being buried in the sand of China Beach.

We will be going down to Marble Mountain this morning and then back to Qui Nhon for the night.

Will post more later.

Part of the Citadel

I thought you said we were going for R&R.  I have been walking forever and I have had enough!!

We got to Hue and had some much needed R&R, or at least I needed it.  A lot of laughing, joking, and story telling went on, as it has all trip. Last night in Hue some went to a 4 star hotel and had some American style food.  We have been eating mostly Vietnamese food.  In fact tonight we are in Da Nang and all but Phil and I went to get pizza.  They said they would bring us a piece of pizza back.  Time will tell.  Also last night six of us got on a boat and went on the Perfume River and enjoyed some traditional singing and musical instruments.

Right now we are in a hotel across the road from the famous China Beach.  I will have pictures and do another blog later.

Two of the vets will talk with families using Skype and Yahoo Messenger tonight.

The reason the last posting was late is that I had it all done and then got cut off from the Internet and lost everything so I had to do it this morning again.

I hope everyone is enjoying the blog.  See you later.
