A day of sightseeing in Da Lat

Domaine De Marie

Medical Students

Which flower do you want?

Can you see the photographer?

XQ? What is that?

Dale Queen for a day, I mean King for a day

Yes Andy that was the Kings Summer Palace

More flowers?

Those aren't flowers, they are wine bottles.
Good way to recycle!

Dale, quit eating the horse food!

Pat, you need to pull harder!

That was a lot of walking.  That is enough.

Michael wants to know what's next?

The first place we went to see was Domaine De Marie, which was a church run by the Nuns.  They bring deaf Montagnard (pronounced- Mountain Yard) to the church and teach them fine needlework making beautiful pictures.  Some of the pictures take several months to finish.  We were not allowed to take pictures of the work.  We met some medical students while we were there.

The next place we visited was Da Lat Su Quan Historical Village.  It is another place where they do the fine needle work and it is also a museum of Da Lat history.  They also call the place XQ.

From there we went to the summer palace of King Bao Dai, who was the last king of Vietnam.  Phuc's (our interpreter) grandpa worked for the King at this palace.

The last place we visited was a huge flower park which had many kinds of flowers and some horses.

Tomorrow we will travel to Nha Tran which is a beautiful city on the ocean.

See you again tomorrow.
