Day Four - Da Lat and Nha Trang

Jon's Travels?

We have to go down the mountain on this?

I hope the driver doesn't get to close to the edge!!

That's a long way down!

Maybe we shouldn't have looked.

Phuc, you make sure the driver takes it easy.

Judge 21 and his wife

Every time I get ready to take a bite
you decide to take a picture.

Dale, what pretty girl are you looking at now?

Wow, we got a concert with our dinner.

And a beautiful girl swimming.

No it is a mermaid

So that is the traditional Ao Dai
they are wearing?

Now we have dancers.

Swimming pool at a restaurant?

Dale is that your bride?
You are getting heavy!

Today we traveled from Da Lat to Nha Trang but made one stop at the train depot.  It is the oldest one in Vietnam and has been turned into a museum.  They still run a train for tourists on a short run in the city.

It was a 3 hour trip to Nha Trang and about 2 1/2 hours of it was coming down the mountain to the valley.  There were lots of switch backs and deep drop offs.

We checked into the Thanh Thanh Hotel right across the road from the ocean.  It is a beautiful city with lots of tourists.  We will only spend the night here and leave for Qui Nhon in the morning.

We went to the Louisiane Restaurant for dinner and were joined by three American girls that are traveling Vietnam.  They are the same girls that joined us in Bien Hoa.  We were also joined by Luan and his wife.  He is a former sniper with the North Vietnamese Regular Army.  Today he is the Head Judge for the District of Nha Trang.
We have nicknamed him Judge 21, from one of the stories he told last April when we were here.

Being it is Valentines Day the restaurant had a concert and fashion show.  They had several singers and dancers.  Some of the singers did songs in English, well pretty good English.  The fashion show was of wedding dresses and Ao Dai's (which is the traditional dress of Vietnam).  They are very beautiful dresses.

We will stop in Nha Trang again on our way back down to Saigon.  Tomorrow we will drive 6 hours north to Qui Nhon and spend at least one night there.

I is 1 AM so I am going to bed.  See you again tomorrow.
